Build one of Britain's most ambitious regenerative land businesses.
Denton Reserve | 2-Year Fixed Term | Reporting to Managing Director | £70,000 +
Denton Reserve is creating a commercially successful model where nature recovery, farming, hospitality and environmental markets work together. We're looking for an exceptional commercial leader to help build that future.
Transform Land into Profit. Build the Future of Regenerative Business.
Denton Reserve seeks an entrepreneurial leader to spearhead our commercial and regenerative transformation into a national exemplar of profitable, nature-positive land management. This is not a conservation role. This is a commercial transformation with environmental outcomes.
Who we are
Denton Reserve combines a landscape restoration project of national significance with food production and the creation of unique hospitality and wellness experiences that help people reconnect with the outside world and themselves. We’re driven by an ambition to deliver nature recovery at scale. We are committed to regenerating the land and rebalancing nature, climate and food production.
Our landscape at Denton Reserve will be repurposed and reimagined to help address the climate crisis. Led by the landscape, we aim to strike a balance that’s respectful of tradition but not weighed down by it, creating a place that’s for both nature and people.
Our ambition is not simply to restore landscapes, but to prove that regenerative land management can become a financially sustainable business model that others will look to replicate.
The Opportunity: Over 24 months, you will design and deliver revenue-generating models that demonstrate sustainability and profitability are not only compatible but mutually reinforcing. Working directly with our Managing Director, you will have the authority and resources to create something genuinely pioneering.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial strategy for Denton Reserve's land business.
- Develop Natural Capital opportunities including Biodiversity Net Gain, carbon and ecosystem services.
- Build strategic partnerships with investors, government, NGOs and corporate organisations.
- Secure grant funding, blended finance and private investment.
- Oversee the commercial performance of land-based enterprises including livestock.
- Work alongside hospitality teams to maximise cross-business opportunities.
- Manage the land operations team and external consultants.
- Develop business cases for new regenerative enterprises.
- Report directly to the Managing Director on commercial performance and investment priorities.
Why Join us
You'll have the rare opportunity to shape one of the UK's most ambitious regenerative estates at a pivotal stage of its development. Working directly with the Managing Director, you'll have genuine influence over strategy, investment and the future direction of the business. Few roles offer this combination of commercial freedom, environmental impact and entrepreneurial opportunity.
Your mission: Turn our land into a profitable, scalable model that other enterprises will study and replicate.
What Success Looks Like: Land programme investment committed and deployed, with income streams covering costs by the end of 2027; BNG pipeline established with units contracted and sales established by Q4 2026; Livestock P&L turning profitable at contribution level by Q1 2027; Land and hospitality integration model operating and delivering and annual improvement of £50k+; Land operations team fully managed and integrated from day one
Who You Are: You are a commercial strategist who understands natural capital markets – not an environmentalist learning business. You have secured significant funding, built revenue models, and delivered transformation under pressure. If you prioritise environmental idealism over commercial viability, this role is not for you. If you thrive on defined challenges and direct authority, this role is exactly for you.
Essential experience: Commercial transformation in land/estate management or natural capital sectors; securing £1m+ investment or blended finance deals; designing and launching revenue models within tight timeframes; senior stakeholder engagement across government, finance, and corporate sectors; board-level communication and executive presence
Your mindset: Entrepreneurial urgency – opportunity moves quickly, and so do you. Commercial clarity – profitability informs every decision. Strategic partnerships – you connect and broker deals. Results delivery naturally – you thrive on defined, measurable outcomes
Why This Role: Direct MD reporting: No bureaucracy, no committee decisions. You will advise ownership directly on strategic land investments and resource allocation.
Defined impact: Two years to build something exceptional. Clear outcomes, sufficient resources, and the authority to deliver. Market timing: Natural capital markets are accelerating. Be at the forefront of commercial environmental asset creation. National platform: Position yourself as the architect of a replicable model that influences policy and industry practice.
Next Steps: This role demands exceptional commercial acumen applied to natural capital transformation. The right candidate is likely already delivering similar outcomes elsewhere and may not be actively seeking a new role.
To apply: Please send us your track record of commercial transformation in natural capital or land management, with specific examples of funding secured and revenue models launched, along with why this role appeals.
